Children who are taught to respect fish, wildlife and the natural environment become people who carry the same values forward into their adult life. With this in mind, the Grand Forks Wildlife Association hosts activities for youth that help to foster a love for the outdoors, knowledge of our local environment, and experiences that may not be available to every child.
Many of our members have kids of their own who partake in youth activities and who have been raised on hunting, fishing and exploring, but we are always open to those that are new to this lifestyle. Programs are dependent on volunteer support and youth interest. Please check back on this page for updates on future programs and activities.
Do you know a local young person who is interested in learning about hunting but not sure where to start? Much of our membership is made up of experienced hunters and outdoors persons, who are willing to spend some time to teach youth about the many aspects of hunting and how to safely enjoy spending time in the outdoors.
If interested send an email to our Club President at GFwildlife@outlook.com.
This is a great opportunity for kids (and adults!) to learn about firearms, archery, shooting safety and to showcase or practice their shooting skills with guidance from those experienced in shooting & target practice.
Generally held each spring, the Turkey Shoot is open to all kids and adults who want to have some fun and maybe win some prizes.

The GFWA is hoping to host a few outdoor education sessions each year.
We are currently working on organizing this, so please check back to this page for details, and contact us @ GFwildlife@outlook.com if you are willing to help with these programs.
In the meantime, if you have a child who is interested in learning about the outdoors in a larger group, BCWF is holding a 5-day youth Wild Kidz Camp at Christina Lake! Click on the link below for more details.
Do you have an idea that will get the kids engaged and excited about the outdoors? Are you willing to facilitate or help plan a Youth Program? Please contact us so we can add you to our volunteer list.
