Children who are taught to respect fish, wildlife and the natural environment become people who carry the same values forward into their adult life. With this in mind, the Grand Forks Wildlife Association hosts activities for youth that help to foster a love for the outdoors, knowledge of our local environment, and experiences that may not be available to every child.
Many of our members have kids of their own who partake in youth activities and who have been raised on hunting, fishing and exploring, but we are always open to those that are new to this lifestyle. Programs are dependent on volunteer support and youth interest. Please check back on this page for updates on future programs and activities.
This is a great opportunity for kids (and adults!) to learn about firearms, archery, shooting safety and to showcase or practice their shooting skills with guidance from those experienced in shooting & target practice.
Generally held each spring, the Turkey Shoot is open to all kids and adults who want to have some fun and maybe win some prizes.

The GFWA is hoping to host a few outdoor education sessions each year.
We are currently working on organizing this, so please check back to this page for details, and contact us @ GFwildlife@outlook.com if you are willing to help with these programs.
In the meantime, if you have a child who is interested in learning about the outdoors in a larger group, BCWF is holding a 5-day youth Wild Kidz Camp during the summer at Christina Lake! NOTE: The camp is over for 2024 but in case you are interested for next summer, you can still click on the link below for more details.
Do you have an idea that will get the kids engaged and excited about the outdoors? Are you willing to facilitate or help plan a Youth Program? Please contact us so we can add you to our volunteer list.
